Blue Mountain Outfitters operates three hunting camps located in beautiful remote
wilderness in Northern Newfoundland on the Great Northern Peninsula. These camps in Area
3 harbour large moose, caribou and black bear with a success rate of 95 -100% ! We
also offer a two-week "bow only" season prior to the regular season.
We have been hunting & guiding in this area for more than twenty - five years
and have an intimate knowledge of the region. Our guides are licensed, experienced,
reliable and committed to providing our guests
with a memorable trip. As your hosts, we are committed to your comfort and success.
Our season opens on the second Saturday in September and we operate until the end
of October. Hunters will go to camp on Sunday and out the following Saturday with meat
checks when necessary. We meet all our guests prior to departure to
camp.
How to get here If you're flying to Newfoundland we have a major airlines, Air
Canada which operates a regular service that connects with most major centres in North
America. Points of entry into Canada can be done at either Toronto, Montreal or Halifax
and on to Deer Lake, Newfoundland. If you're driving to Newfoundland, take a ferry from
North Sydney, Nova Scotia to Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland. You'll need a reservation
(1-800-341-7981) and the crossing time is approximately 5-6 hours.
We strive to maintain a good hunter-animal ratio and will not overbook our camps.
Combination hunts are available for either moose, caribou or black bear.
